About the KD2055
The Kenwood KD-2055 is a semi-automatic belt-drive turntable manufactured in Japan from 1976-1978. It features Kenwood's proprietary Anti Resonance Compression Base (ARCB) chassis, a layer construction of resin concrete and plywood designed to minimize vibrations and provide excellent isolation for accurate record reproduction. The turntable comes equipped with a Kenwood V-39 MK II moving magnet cartridge and includes automated features such as auto-in, auto-cut, auto-return, and auto-repeat mechanisms. The deck is known as a 'sleeper' in the vintage audio community, offering strong performance despite being less popular than some contemporary models. It requires a phono preamp for connection to an amplifier.
