About the 600T
The Kenwood 600T is a mono/stereo FM tuner manufactured between 1976 and 1978 in Japan. It features an analogue tuning scale covering the FM band from 88 to 108 MHz. The tuner is highly regarded for its excellent sensitivity of 1.6 µV, low distortion of 0.05%, and a wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 15 kHz. It offers a signal-to-noise ratio of 82 dB and an output level of 750 mV. The 600T includes advanced features such as a two-stage muting control, selectable FM-IF bandwidths (normal, narrow, wide), a variable output knob, and a multipath/deviation meter switch. Its front panel has three meters for signal strength, tuning, and deviation/multipath. The tuner weighs 11.5 kg and measures 440 x 154 x 378 mm. It is praised for its sophisticated eight-ganged tuning capacitor and double-diffused MOS-FET RF stage, making it one of the most sophisticated tuners of its era. The 600T is considered a flagship audiophile tuner with a reputation for exquisite sound quality and precise tuning capabilities.
