The KEF Q100 bookshelf speakers are designed for versatile use in environments such as studies, family rooms, or as rear speakers in home theater systems. They feature KEF's signature 130mm (5.25in) Uni-Q driver array with a 25mm (1in) vented aluminium dome tweeter, delivering a point source sound that provides a more accurate and evenly dispersed sound image throughout the room. The speakers have a two-way bass reflex design with a frequency response of 49Hz to 40kHz (±3dB), a crossover frequency of 2.5kHz, and an impedance of 8 ohms. They require an amplifier power of 10 to 100 watts and have a sensitivity of 86dB (2.83V/1m) with a maximum output of 107dB SPL. The enclosure is relatively compact, measuring 300 x 180 x 272 mm (11.8 x 7.1 x 10.7 in) and weighing 5.9 kg (13 lbs) each. The Q100 speakers are known for their lush, spacious, and precisely defined sound with compelling midrange and high-frequency response and solid, controlled bass. They come in finishes such as Black Oak, European Walnut, and English Cherry. The speakers include bi-wire/bi-amp capable terminals with shunting knobs to adjust the highs and lows. Although discontinued, they were originally
