About the Q10
The KEF Q-10 is a compact two-way bookshelf speaker produced from around 1993 to 1996. It features a coaxial Uni-Q driver array consisting of a 16 cm polypropylene cone woofer and a 1.9 cm soft dome tweeter, designed to align the acoustic phases for accurate sound reproduction. The tweeter uses a neodymium iron boron magnet for miniaturization and includes magnetic shielding to reduce CRT interference. The enclosure is a bass-reflex type finished in black ash or grey. It has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, sensitivity of 88 dB at 1 meter for 2.83V, and a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz ±3 dB. The speaker weighs approximately 4.5 to 4.8 kg and requires an amplifier power of 10 to 100 watts. Dimensions are roughly 317 mm high, 190 mm wide, and 260 mm deep. The crossover network is located at the rear terminal with independent wiring for balanced frequency playback. The KEF Q-10 is noted for its faithful sound reproduction and compact size, making it suitable for bookshelf or stand-mount use.
