About the KA I 180 Mk2
The Karan Acoustics KA I 180 Mk2 is an advanced integrated amplifier featuring a fully balanced topology with no overall feedback, channel separated power supplies from a custom-moulded 680 VA toroidal transformer, and an 80,000 µF filter bank with four stages of stabilization. It delivers 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts per channel into 4 ohms, operating in class A with superb control and natural sound reproduction. The amplifier offers a frequency response from DC to 300 kHz (+0, -3 dB), a signal-to-noise ratio better than -112 dB, intermodulation distortion less than 0.03% at rated power into 8 ohms, and a damping factor better than 1800:1 across 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Input sensitivities are 750 mV/30k ohms for RCA line and 1.5 V/30k ohms for XLR line inputs. The design includes sliding bias and low current to avoid overheating, maintaining only slight warmth even under extended heavy use. The amplifier is praised for its uncolored midrange, extended detailed top end, and powerful, well-controlled bass. Dimensions are approximately 500 x 110 x 380 mm (WxHxD) with a net weight of 20 kg. It comes with a remote control and is suitable for high-end audio setups where space is limited but uncompromised sound quality is desired.
