About the QL-F6
The JVC QL-F6 is a vintage high-fidelity turntable manufactured in Japan between 1978 and 1981. It features a quartz-locked direct drive system powered by a coreless DC servo motor with double quartz servo circuits for exceptional speed stability and low wow and flutter. The platter is a heavy 2 kg diecast aluminum alloy, ensuring stable rotation. The tonearm is statically balanced and oil-damped with a new gimbal support system, providing high sensitivity and resistance to acoustic feedback. It supports moving magnet cartridges weighing 13 to 20 grams (up to 24 grams with an extra counterweight) and includes an anti-skating device. The turntable offers speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm with ±6% pitch control and features fully automatic operation with repeat play capability. The unit measures 456 x 142 x 400 mm and weighs 11 kg. It originally retailed for approximately 948 Deutsche Marks.
