About the Perspective

The Joseph Audio Perspective is a high-performance loudspeaker designed to deliver a smooth and even frequency response over a broad listening window. It features an 8 ohms nominal impedance (5.5 ohms minimum), making it compatible with a wide range of amplifiers including tube designs. The speaker uses an Asymmetrical Infinite Slope Crossover at 2 kHz, constructed from specially selected components and precisely adjusted to match the original prototype. This crossover design ensures minimal acoustical interference, low distortion, and wide dynamic range, with driver acoustic responses remaining in-phase throughout the crossover regions. The Perspective's frequency response is very smooth and even, maintaining sonic balance over wide vertical and horizontal angles, resulting in higher fidelity than simple on-axis measurements suggest. The listening window response is within 2 dB from 35 Hz to 20 kHz. The speaker measures 36 inches (915 mm) in height, 8.5 inches (216 mm) in width, and 13 inches (330 mm) in depth, with a shipping weight of approximately 85 lbs (38.55 kg) per speaker. The design includes 5.5" magnesium alloy woofers with copper phase plugs and a reflex-loaded woofer alignment with a large rear port, which can be modified with a foam liner to adjust the port diameter for tuning preferences. Overall, the Perspective combines advanced materials and crossover technology to provide a refined and dynamic listening experience.
