About the JD9 II
The Jolida JD 9 II (also known as JD9 Mk II) is a tube-based phono preamplifier that supports moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges with multiple gain and impedance adjustments. It uses two 12AX7 tubes, allowing for tube rolling to customize sound. The unit offers eight impedance levels and three gain switches to select MM low gain output, MC high medium output, and MC low high output. It has two RCA outputs: a low output (200 mV) and a high output (1.8 V), enabling flexible integration with various preamps or integrated amplifiers. The JD 9 II features a frequency response of 5 Hz to 110 kHz (+/- 1 dB), a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB, and harmonic distortion below 0.02%. Input impedance is selectable with multiple options for MM and MC cartridges, and input capacitance can be adjusted. The chassis measures approximately 17 x 13 x 2 inches and weighs about 10 pounds. It includes factory packaging, power cable, manual, and two Tung-Sol 12AX7 tubes. The JD 9 II is highly regarded for its sound quality, flexibility, and value, with a It is no longer in current production and considered an outdated but still popular model among audiophiles.
