The JERN 14 EH is a revolutionary compact loudspeaker from JERN, designed to deliver high-end audio quality despite its small and elegant form factor. It is engineered to work in conjunction with high-quality subwoofers, with a -6dB crossover point at 90 Hz, allowing it to play louder with less distortion compared to other models like the JERN 12. The speaker has an 8 Ohm impedance, making it an easy load for amplifiers. It features a specially made tweeter by Hiquphon with a longer linear excursion and a unique dome coated with five layers of damping liquid, including metal dust layers that give it a distinctive golden color. The crossover capacitor is a high-quality Mundorf EVO Silver/Gold/Oil capacitor. The woofer is a 5.25-inch Scan-Speak driver with an SBR rubber surround housed in a sealed box design, which results in bass roll-off at 12dB per octave below 100 Hz, necessitating the use of a subwoofer for full low-frequency extension. The JERN 14 EH is essentially hand-built by experienced craftsmen, emphasizing quality over mass production. When paired with a suitable subwoofer, such as the REL T/5i, it creates a seamless and dynamic three-way loudspeaker system with excellent integration and sound quality.
