About the Capri S2-SC
The Jeff Rowland Design Group Capri S2-SC is a compact, high-end solid-state balanced stereo preamplifier built in a low-profile, ultra-low-resonance chassis machined from solid aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum. It shares the Capri S2's core analog/control platform but the SC version incorporates a revised power supply that uses supercapacitor-based energy storage to further isolate the audio circuitry from the AC mains. The Capri S2-SC provides two balanced XLR line inputs, two unbalanced RCA line inputs, a unity-gain home-theater bypass input, and both balanced and single-ended line-level outputs, with overall gain of 14 dB and 199 discrete volume steps covering a 99.5 dB range. An optional internally mounted phono card converts Line Input 1 to a high-performance MM/MC phono input with selectable gain and loading, and a higher-performance HP phono module is also available for low-output moving-coil cartridges. The unit's low output impedances (80 ohm balanced, 40 ohm single-ended) allow it to confidently drive a wide variety of power amplifiers and long cable runs, while its auto-sensing, auto-ranging switch-mode supply supports worldwide AC voltages.
