About the 6
The Jeff Rowland Model 6 is a monophonic power amplifier designed for discerning audiophiles, offering 150 watts of power into 8 ohms and 300 watts into 4 ohms. It features a fully balanced Differential Mode™ circuit topology from input to output, minimizing noise and distortion. The amplifier uses ultra-precise components and a massive power supply to provide tight bass, transparent mids, and detailed highs with natural tonal accuracy. Its chassis is precision-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with dimensional tolerances of 0.005 inches, designed for mechanical stability and low resonance. The Model 6 supports user-selectable gain (26 or 32 dB) and input impedance (18kΩ or 600Ω), includes XLR balanced inputs with adapters for RCA, and offers optional remote power on/off. It can be powered by a conventional AC mains supply or an optional isolated DC power supply with sealed lead calcium batteries (BPS-6), enhancing sound quality with a more relaxed and fluid character. The amplifier is compact and robust, suitable for high-end audiophile setups and compatible with premium preamplifiers and source components. It was produced from 1994 to 1999 and retailed around €14,790 in 1998 in the Netherlands.
