The JDS Labs OL DAC is a high-quality digital-to-analog converter featuring the AK4490EQ DAC chip. It offers USB Type B and TOSLINK optical inputs, providing flexible connectivity for computers and home entertainment devices. The device is externally powered via an AC adapter, ensuring stable and low-noise operation without relying on USB power. It delivers a clean, flat, and dynamic sound signature with excellent noise floor and minimal distortion, making it ideal for users seeking pure audio transparency without coloration. The OL DAC supports audio formats from 16/44.1kHz up to 24/192kHz on optical input and up to 24/96kHz on USB input. It has a differential summing output stage that provides a 2.0 VRMS line-level output through RCA connectors. The compact and efficient design is made in the USA, with solid build quality and practical packaging. The OL DAC is driverless and plug-and-play compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and PS4. It is often paired with the JDS Labs O2 headphone amplifier for a complete desktop audio stack.
