The JBL E145 is a 38 cm (15 inch) cone woofer unit developed primarily for musical instrument applications such as bass guitars, organs, and keyboards. It features a large magnetic circuit with low distortion and a die-cast frame, delivering high efficiency and a wide playback frequency range from 40 Hz to 2.5 kHz. The unit has a sound pressure level of 98 dB/W/m and an allowable continuous program input power of 300W. It was produced in variations of 8 Ω and 16 Ω impedance, with later models typically 8 Ω. The woofer has a voice coil diameter of 10.2 cm, a resonance frequency (fo) of 35 Hz, and a magnetic flux density of 9,500 gauss. Its recommended enclosure volume ranges from 85 to 225 liters. The E145 weighs approximately 13 kg packed and has external dimensions of 403 mm diameter by 157 mm depth. It is highly regarded for its natural, uncolored sound and low distortion, making it suitable for professional musical instrument amplification and PA systems.
