About the 4312
The JBL 4312 is a classic 3-way studio monitor bookshelf loudspeaker and direct successor to the 4311B, designed for both professional studio/broadcast use and home listening. It uses a bass-reflex enclosure of about 40 L with a 12-inch (30 cm) cone woofer, 5-inch (13 cm) cone midrange, and 1.4-inch (3.6 cm) cone tweeter, and is commonly supplied/used as mirror-image pairs to improve stereo imaging and soundstage localization. It is an 8-ohm system with sensitivity around 91 dB/W/m, rated for roughly 80-200 W program/continuous power depending on version, and provides robust bass and clear, forward mids and highs characteristic of JBL control monitors of this era.
