About the EMB-1200
The James Loudspeaker EMB-1200 is a compact, high-performance powered subwoofer utilizing the patented Energy Multiplied Bandpass (EMB) design. This design employs two sealed chambers: a rear chamber housing a 12" long-excursion aluminum cone driver with a 3" push-pull voice coil and a 15-lb magnet, and a front chamber with a spun aluminum pneumatically-coupled passive radiator. This configuration multiplies energy output, producing bass as if from a much larger enclosure, with reduced distortion and increased sonic impact. Tuned to perform from 20Hz to 120Hz ±3dB, it delivers a fluid stream of high-volume, virtually distortion-free bass. The subwoofer includes a built-in 600 watt Class D amplifier, simplifying setup. The enclosure is made of MDF with a studio black finish, measuring approximately 15" H x 21" W x 16" D. Controls include level, phase, crossover, gain, and power on/off. The EMB-1200 is designed for both residential and commercial applications where deep, clear bass is desired in a compact form factor.
