About the NUC ROCK Running ROON
The Roon Nucleus One is a purpose-built Roon Core server that eliminates the need to manually configure an Intel NUC with Roon ROCK operating system. It features a polycarbonate chassis with premium design characteristics and is ready to use immediately after connecting to power and network. The device can be placed in a hi-fi rack or tucked away out of sight. Users can expand storage by connecting external USB drives or installing an internal SSD (up to 8TB). The Nucleus One includes two USB-A ports and a single HDMI output for connecting external DACs. Note that a Roon subscription is required separately and not included with the device. This product was introduced as Intel discontinued NUC production, making it a more accessible alternative to DIY ROCK installations. ASUS has since acquired rights to manufacture NUCs under license, and Roon continues to support NUC-based ROCK installations for users who prefer the DIY approach.
