About the Zen CAN

The iFi ZEN CAN is a fully analogue, balanced desktop headphone amplifier designed to deliver high power and transparency while adding optional analogue enhancements for a more engaging listening experience. Based on circuitry derived from iFi's higher-end Pro iCAN, it uses a fully discrete, symmetric dual-mono design with balanced 4.4 mm input and output alongside RCA and 3.5 mm inputs for flexible integration into desktop systems. The ZEN CAN includes iFi's analogue 3D Holographic and XBass circuits, which can widen the perceived soundstage and reinforce low-frequency response without resorting to digital signal processing, preserving an all-analogue signal path. With multiple gain settings and the ability to deliver up to around 1.6 W into 32 Ω loads, it can drive a wide range of headphones while maintaining low distortion and a neutral tonality, making it suitable both as a dedicated headphone amp and, via its line output, as a compact analogue preamplifier in a desktop audio chain.
