About the iDSD nano
The iFi Audio iDSD nano is a compact, portable USB DAC and headphone amplifier that supports native playback of PCM up to 384 kHz, DXD up to 384 kHz, and DSD up to DSD256 (2.8–12.4 MHz) using a Burr-Brown DAC chipset with bit-perfect DSD/DXD processing. It uses a high-speed asynchronous USB 2.0 input and iFi's bit-perfect data transfer with low-jitter clocking. Supported formats include 16–32-bit PCM at 44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192/352.8/384 kHz, DXD at 352.8/384 kHz, and DSD at 2.8/3.1/5.6/6.2/11.2/12.4 MHz. The built-in headphone amplifier provides more than 130 mW into 16 Ω with output impedance under 1 Ω, making it suitable for a wide range of IEMs and headphones. A rear-panel switch offers selectable digital filters for PCM (Standard/Minimum Phase), while DSD uses selectable analogue filters (Standard/Extended Range). Inputs and outputs include a USB 2.0 Type-A input compatible with computers plus iOS/Android devices via Camera Connection Kit or OTG, stereo RCA line out, 3.5 mm headphone out, and a coaxial S/PDIF output carrying PCM up to 192 kHz. Power is supplied by an internal ~1400 mAh lithium-polymer battery for around 10 hours of playback, with the unit able to run and charge from USB bus power. The aluminum enclosure measures roughly 106 × 67 × 28 mm and weighs approximately 160 g. The later nano iDSD Black Label is a distinct, updated model with higher output power and MQA support; those features do not apply to the original iDSD nano.
