The iFi Audio AC iPurifier is a compact, cylindrical device that serves as a plug-in power conditioner. It is designed to clean up noisy mains supplies to audio systems, utilizing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology similar to that found in active noise-cancelling headphones. This ANC circuitry effectively reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI) by introducing a second, opposite sound wave to cancel out unwanted noise, particularly in lower frequencies. Additionally, it employs passive noise cancellation through insulating filters to eliminate middle and high-frequency noise. The device also features smart diagnostics for polarity and grounding issues, an intelligent ground connection to prevent ground loops, and overvoltage surge protection to safeguard equipment from power spikes. It operates across a wide voltage range (90 to 265 VAC) and can be used in modular configurations for enhanced noise reduction.
