The Ideon Audio Absolute Stream Meta is a high-end music server, streamer, renderer, and Roon platform introduced as the 2024 Meta edition of Ideon Audio’s Absolute Stream. It is designed to perform real-time audio rendering with a highly prioritized playback computer, proprietary USB re-clocking, extensive linear power regulation, and a mechanically rigid aluminum chassis. The Meta version adds an internal Roon Core, faster memory, standard 4TB internal SSD music storage, optional 8TB storage, simplified native playback software, and integrated Qobuz playback. It connects to a network by Ethernet and can function as either a Roon Core or Roon Bridge/endpoint, as well as a UPnP/DLNA renderer for local and network-stored music. Digital audio is output through two proprietary re-clocked USB ports, one providing a 5 V rail and one without the 5 V rail. It requires an external USB DAC or other compatible USB audio device; it is not itself an analog-output DAC. No conventional analog audio performance specifications such as output voltage, output impedance, THD, SNR, or frequency response are published for the streamer. Available information identifies the Meta edition as a current product rather than a discontinued model; the earlier non-Meta Absolute Stream has been superseded by the Meta revision.
