The Icon Audio Stereo 60 MK IIIm is a UK-designed, handmade integrated valve amplifier boasting the world's first KT150 integrated ultralinear/triode hi-fi tube amplifier. It delivers 80 watts per channel in ultralinear mode and 40 watts in triode mode, offering a choice between robust power and pure triode sound. The amplifier is fully hand-wired point-to-point with no printed circuit boards or transistors, ensuring minimal signal coloration. It features a large power supply, big output transformers, and three potted transformers to reduce noise. The unit includes a built-in "Easy Bias" meter for valve monitoring and replacement indication. It uses 4 precisely matched KT120 valves (compatible with KT88/6550), 2x 6SL7 first stage valves, and 2x 6SN7 output driver valves. The amplifier supports 4 and 8 ohm loudspeaker outputs, has a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz (-0.2dB), and a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.25% at 40W. It can be used as an integrated amplifier or as a power amplifier with adjustable sensitivity. Additional features include valve voltage regulation, valve warm-up protection, and a Japanese Blue ALPS volume pot. The amplifier weighs approximately 35 kg and measures 440mm wide, 230mm high, and 400mm deep. It is designed for medium to high efficiency speakers with impedance from 3 to 12 ohms.
