About the High-End Crossover
The Hsu Research High-End Crossover is an ultra high quality, discrete high pass, pure class A 24dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley low/high pass crossover designed for seamless integration of subwoofers with main speakers. It features both high and low pass RCA type line level outputs, with crossover frequency set by interchangeable modules available for 28, 34, 43, 51, 62, 75, 91, 109, 131, and 155 Hz (includes free 91 Hz module). Setup involves connecting the preamp's line-level output to the crossover, then routing high pass to main amps and low pass to subwoofer amps. Key controls include a volume knob for subwoofer level adjustment, subsonic filter for protection, phase inversion switch, full-range/bi-amp switch, and level control. It uses only high grade components like high accuracy polypropylene capacitors in the signal path and power supply. The discrete FET high pass section has zero overall feedback, and both sections are biased Class A. A front panel switch allows instant toggling between full-range mains and bi-amped mode with subwoofers.
