About the VTF-1

The Hsu Research VTF-1 subwoofer features a 10-inch polymer treated paper cone woofer with a butyl rubber surround and poly-cotton spider designed for durability and cost-effective performance. It is powered by a 200-watt RMS (600 watts peak) bridged amplifier using hybrid BASH technology. The enclosure is down-firing and dual-ported with variable tuning frequency (VTF) allowing one or two ports to be open for deeper or louder bass respectively. Controls include volume, crossover frequency (30-90 Hz), phase (0/180 degrees), Q control for bass tightness, and a crossover bypass switch. Inputs include stereo RCA line-level and speaker-level connections with binding posts. The subwoofer measures approximately 19.5" H x 14" W x 18" D and weighs 56 lbs. It is praised for musicality, deep bass extension, and value for the price, making it suitable for home theater and music applications.
