About the Scorpio
The Helius Scorpio tonearm is a well-regarded 9-inch arm designed with a Linn mounting pattern and an effective length of 228.6 mm. It features an overhang of 18 mm and an offset angle of 24 degrees, with a mounting distance of 210.6 mm. The Scorpio delivers solid, well-defined bass, warm and natural mid-bass and midrange, and detailed sound without excessive brightness or harshness. The high frequencies are natural and smooth, making it a versatile tonearm that pairs well with many cartridges and is suitable for those entering the vinyl world. The Scorpio underwent several design improvements through its versions, with the Mk3 version using a fixed arm tube and headshell with slots for cartridge alignment. The Scorpio 4, a later generation, is available in 9" and 10" sizes and uses single strand silver wiring, with bearing assemblies that are highly regarded in its price category. The tonearm is praised for its musical satisfaction and competes well with higher-end arms in its class.
