About the V10
The Hegel V10 is a solid-state phono preamplifier that supports both MM and MC cartridges. It features an ultra-low noise discrete JFET transistor input stage for both MM and MC inputs, with the MC input utilizing four JFETs connected in parallel. The device offers adjustable gain settings for both MM and MC cartridges, allowing users to customize the output to match their system's requirements. For MM cartridges, the gain options are 40dB, 45dB, 50dB, and 52dB via XLR, and 34dB, 39dB, 44dB, and 46dB via RCA. For MC cartridges, the gain options are 60dB, 65dB, 70dB, and 72dB via XLR, and 54dB, 59dB, 64dB, and 66dB via RCA. The V10 also provides adjustable impedance settings for MC cartridges between 33 and 550 ohms, or a fixed setting at 47 kohm. Additionally, it offers adjustable capacitance settings for MM cartridges between 100 and 467 pF. The device includes a subsonic filter to remove unwanted low-frequency noise and features an auto-standby function for energy efficiency. The power supply is linear and low-noise, utilizing a custom-designed E-core transformer to minimize interference.
