About the DM88
The Halcro DM-88 is a high-end solid-state monoblock power amplifier designed with advanced technology to minimize distortion and maximize audio purity. It delivers over 270 watts into 8 ohms and more than 500 watts into 4 ohms. The amplifier features multiple input modes including balanced (XLR) voltage mode, unbalanced (RCA) voltage mode, current mode, and minimal path mode. It achieves extraordinarily low distortion levels, with total harmonic distortion below -126 dB up to 20 kHz at full power and noise levels as low as 5 nV/sqrt(Hz) in voltage mode. The DM-88 incorporates extensive protection mechanisms such as shutdown on excessive temperature, continuous DC output, or power supply faults. It operates on a universal supply voltage from 85 to 270 V RMS and weighs 55 kg per unit. The design includes improved magnetic shielding to reduce nonlinear interference and a power supply with low harmonic distortion. The amplifier is housed in a robust chassis measuring 790 x 400 x 400 mm. It was introduced around 2005 and is considered a flagship model in Halcro's lineup, with a
