About the Antileon EVO

The Gryphon Antileon EVO is a no-compromise pure Class A stereo power amplifier with true dual-mono construction and an over-engineered power supply, delivering 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms with massive current reserves for difficult speaker loads. It uses 40 high-current bipolar output transistors, a fully balanced input and voltage amplifier stage, and a newly developed ultrafast J-FET input stage, fed from a custom ultra-low-noise regulated supply. The output stage is supported by a 670,000 µF power capacitor bank and twin custom-designed 1500 W toroidal transformers in shielded, epoxy-damped casings that are mechanically isolated from the chassis for vibration control. Internal wiring is minimized to a single short run of Gryphon Guideline Reference gold-embedded silver wire, with Mundorf RXF polypropylene capacitors used for power-supply decoupling and Takman REY precision resistors in critical locations. The Antileon EVO offers switchable Class A bias from the front panel and supports Automatic Green Bias when linked to a compatible Gryphon preamplifier, dynamically adjusting Class A bias with volume to reduce heat and power consumption without sacrificing instantaneous current capability. It features a flat frequency response extending beyond 350 kHz, no output relays, frequency-independent damping factor, a microprocessor-controlled non-invasive smart protection system with onboard diagnostic firmware, and proprietary dual binding posts. The heavily braced chassis with massive heatsinks weighs approximately 84-90 kg with dimensions of approximately 570 x 260 x 600 mm.
