About the Robin

The Robin tonearm by Graham Engineering is an entry-level, gimbaled-bearing tonearm designed for mid-priced turntables and for owners of popular decks such as Clearaudio Champion/Solution series, Basis 1400-series, VPI HW-19, and Rega models. It uses a removable headshell and is compatible with Graham's patented cartridge alignment system as an optional accessory, giving users easier cartridge installation and precise geometry. The arm provides adjustable anti-skate and vertical tracking angle (VTA) via a spring-loaded mounting base that allows the arm height to be raised or lowered and then locked, and the base is engineered so the arm does not drop when the VTA locking screw is loosened. A dedicated mounting-base version is available as a drop-in replacement for Rega turntables, and the standard base shares the same mounting hole pattern as the Graham Series 2.0/2.1/2.2 arms, enabling future upgrade paths. Mechanically, the Robin is based on the AudioQuest PT6 architecture but incorporates a heavier bearing housing, high-quality gimbaled bearings, a redesigned pivot assembly, and a specially damped armtube. In use, it is reported to have an open, airy sound with good bass extension and clarity, and is offered in configurations suitable for both Rega-style and Graham-style mounting.
