About the 1.5t

The Graham Engineering 1.5t is a high-end unipivot tonearm, derived from the original Model 1.5 and upgraded with heavier tungsten side weights, revised bearing architecture, and improved internal wiring. Drawing on Bob Graham's original 1.5 design from around 1990, the 1.5t retains the arm's distinctive unipivot bearing, interchangeable armwands for rapid cartridge changes, and a patented cartridge-alignment system that enables quick, precise setup. Later evolution of the platform introduced the ceramic SW-3 armwand and additional mechanical refinements, sold as the 1.5t/c configuration, but the core 1.5t designation specifically reflects the move from brass to tungsten side weights and upgraded silver wiring. Compared to the original 1.5, the 1.5t offers more rigid counterweight coupling, enhanced resonance control, and van den Hul single-conductor silver wiring, contributing to greater low-frequency authority, image solidity, and overall sonic refinement. It is widely regarded as a reference-grade arm for its build quality, setup flexibility, and performance, but is now discontinued and has been superseded by newer Graham designs such as the 2.x and Phantom series.
