The GR Research LS6 Line Source speaker is a large, high-performance 2-way line array loudspeaker standing nearly 69 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds each. It incorporates 8 customized 6.5" GR Research M-165X woofers with treated paper cones and polymer chassis to minimize resonance, paired with 6 Bohlender Graebener Neo 8 planar magnetic tweeters. The design uses a vented enclosure with 8 rear-firing flared ports to optimize bass response. The crossover point is set at 1000 Hz to keep the vocal range clean. The speaker has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and an efficiency of 90 dB at 1 watt/1 meter, making it compatible with a wide range of amplifiers from 30 to 500 watts. The LS6 is noted for its line source behavior, providing a more consistent sound level over distance compared to point source speakers, and a large effective listening area. The cabinet is finished in high-gloss veneer options such as Palisander Rosa Diamond or Rosewood. The LS6 is recommended for larger rooms due to its size and output capabilities.
