About the GL75
The Goldring Lenco GL75 is a legendary idler-drive turntable originally manufactured in Switzerland during the 1960s and 1970s. It features a dynamically balanced platter with a heavy mass for stable playback and a 4-pole constant velocity motor with a conical spindle enabling infinitely variable speed adjustment between approximately 16 to 86 rpm, covering 16, 33, 45, and 78 RPM speeds. The tonearm is an S-shaped design with counterbalanced weight and knife edge bearings, allowing precise tracking and stylus pressure adjustment from 0.5 to 5 grams. The GL75 is highly regarded by audiophiles for its low wow and flutter (0.6%), low rumble (-60 dB), and exceptional audio clarity, making it suitable for playing both vintage shellac records and modern vinyl. It has a wooden case with dimensions approximately 460 x 158 x 365 mm and was marketed under the Goldring brand, benefiting from Goldring's cartridge expertise and sales network. The turntable remains a sought-after classic for collectors and vinyl enthusiasts seeking authentic hi-fi sound reproduction.
