About the PH-10
The PH-10 is a solid-state, fully analogue phono preamplifier for both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges, featuring two independent stereo RCA inputs that can each be configured as MM or MC and stored in memory for easy use with two tonearms or turntables. It provides nine selectable loading options (10Ω, 22Ω, 47Ω, 100Ω, 220Ω, 470Ω, 1kΩ, 22kΩ, 47kΩ) and four gain settings (–3dB, 0dB, +3dB, +6dB; 45dB MM / 65dB MC) for precise cartridge matching. Equalization is handled by three selectable EQ curves (RIAA, Decca London, American Columbia), each with an Enhanced variant inspired by Neumann cutting lathe practice, extending response to 20Hz–50kHz while the standard setting covers 20Hz–20kHz. A built-in subsonic filter at 10Hz / 36dB per octave helps suppress low-frequency rumble. Control is via Gold Note's Single Knob Control (SKC) and a 2.8" color TFT display, enabling real-time adjustment of EQ, load, and gain during playback. Outputs include 1 unbalanced RCA and 1 balanced XLR (fixed 2V RCA / 4V XLR, XLR at +12dB), with 50Ω output impedance. The PH-10 uses high-quality discrete components in a compact brushed-aluminum chassis and is designed to work with the optional PSU-10 external inductive power supply for further noise reduction and performance improvement. It is available in Black, Silver, and Gold finishes. Typical dimensions are approximately 200mm (W) x 80mm (H) x 260mm (D) and weight around 3–4kg (about 6.6 lbs), with a nominal 10W super-linear power consumption.
