About the DAYZEE

The Geshelli Labs DAYZEE is a flagship dual-mono digital-to-analog converter built around two AKM AK4499EX DAC chips and two AK4191 digital-interface/filter chips. It uses eight socketed mono op-amps, with OPA1655 devices fitted as standard and optional SparkoS SS2590 discrete op-amps available as an upgrade. Digital inputs include two optical TOSLINK, two coaxial S/PDIF, and a Geshelli Amanero USB module. The converter provides simultaneous balanced XLR and multiple unbalanced RCA outputs, plus digital TOSLINK and coaxial outputs. Its USB interface supports PCM up to 384 kHz/32-bit and native DSD512; optical and coaxial inputs support up to 192 kHz/24-bit. The DAYZEE also supports direct DSD processing through the AK4499EX devices. The available evidence indicates that the model was later discontinued, reportedly because its large size and production cost made it impractical to continue manufacturing.
