About the Borderland IV

The Borderland MK IV loudspeaker uses a single carbon fibre German Physiks DDD driver mounted on top of a slim, octagonal, floor-standing cabinet, with a downward firing 12-inch woofer set in its base. It features a new crossover design that significantly improves bass performance and integration with the DDD driver, resulting in exceptional coherence from top to bottom, enhanced resolution, and dynamics. The DDD driver is omnidirectional, radiating sound evenly around it, and covers a wide frequency range from 190Hz to 24kHz. The woofer is housed in a sealed enclosure linked to a Helmholtz resonator cavity for smoother bass response. The speaker is designed for rooms between 15 and 90 square meters (160 to 950 square feet) and requires a minimum 160W amplifier at 4 ohms. It offers a high-frequency adjustment with four settings (-2dB, flat, +2dB, +4dB) centered at 8,000Hz. The Borderland MK IV is hand-built in Germany, with each DDD driver undergoing rigorous testing and pre-aging. It is available in various finishes including satin veneer, high polish veneer, black or white paint, polyester, and carbon fibre.
