About the The
The George-Warren Precision Sound Turntable is a meticulously engineered analog playback system designed to eliminate vibrations and maintain exceptional speed stability. The turntable features a split plinth construction with an air-dampened lower plinth and visco-elastic polymer pucks on the upper plinth to absorb resonance from external influences. The standout feature is its high-mass 1.5-inch thick acrylic platter with ten pockets filled with precisely measured lead shot encapsulated in epoxy, positioned at the outer edges to increase momentum and maintain consistent speed. The spindle bearing uses a polished stainless steel shaft within an ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene sleeve impregnated with lubricant, eliminating metal-to-metal contact and audible resonance. The included Moth Arm2 Incognito-wired tonearm uses three-point mounting with gold-plated aluminum grounding. The motor controller continuously monitors platter speed via a sensor scanning a strobe pattern, maintaining pitch-perfect stability across speed changes. Custom hardwood plinths are available at additional cost.
