The Genelec 8030A is a very compact bi-amplified active monitor system designed for nearfield monitoring in project studios, workstations, and surround sound setups. It features a 5-inch low frequency driver and a 3/4-inch metal dome tweeter powered by separate 40-watt amplifiers. The enclosure uses Genelec's Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) design with rounded edges and an advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology to minimize diffraction and improve imaging. It offers a frequency response from 55 Hz to 21 kHz (-3 dB) with a maximum SPL of over 108 dB at 1 meter. The monitor includes versatile mounting options, magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry, and room response controls. It comes with an Iso-Pod isolation stand that allows flexible positioning and reduces vibrations. The 8030A has balanced XLR input and output connectors for daisy-chaining and subwoofer integration. Its compact size, accurate imaging, and robust build make it suitable for professional audio production environments where space is limited.
