About the Merrill Audio PolyTable Super
The Merrill Audio PolyTable Super is a US-made, high-performance turntable designed by George Merrill. It features advanced energy management technology with a minimalist plinth designed to minimize energy flow, using no metal or glass in the critical energy path. The turntable includes a fluid damped motor system, an oil well bearing, and a precision custom-manufactured motor. It supports 33.3 and 45 RPM speeds with a digital motor drive system offering speed accuracy of 2 parts per million and an onboard strobe wand for worldwide use (50/60 Hz). The platter is a two-piece system with a damped drive platter and a 0.700 inch thick resonance-controlled platter with a bonded RCC mat for record support. The PolyTable Super accommodates 12-inch tonearms, including a Jelco 12" tonearm with easy azimuth, zenith, VTA, SRA, VTF, and antiskate adjustments. It weighs approximately 18 lbs and includes adjustable leveling feet with built-in bubble levels. The design focuses on resonance control with a primary resonance set at 19 Hz, away from cartridge and arm resonances, ensuring exceptional playback quality. The PolyTable Super has received high praise and awards including Product of the Year from The Absolute Sound and a Class B rating from Stereophile's Michael Fremer. It is hand-built one at a time for music lovers seeking reference-level sound quality at a reasonable price.
