About the Ktemas
The Ktêma is a limited edition high-end loudspeaker designed by Franco Serblin, founder of Sonus Faber. It features a four-way topology with five drivers: a 28mm soft-dome tweeter by Ragnar Lian, two custom 4-inch midrange units, and two 9-inch metal cone woofers compression-loaded and room interfaced at the rear. The cabinet is a rigid triple arch-shaped structure with concave sides and a convex rear baffle, crafted with real wood and hand-polished aluminum accents, available in high gloss piano black or satin sycamore finishes. Internal wiring uses Yter pure silver-palladium mono wiring designed by Serblin's son-in-law. The speaker has a high sensitivity of 92 dB/W/m and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms with a minimum of 3.2 ohms at 70Hz, requiring a powerful amplifier (minimum 20W per channel). Dimensions are approximately 111 cm high, 42.5 cm wide, and 46 cm deep, weighing 110 kg per pair unpacked. The frequency response spans 26Hz to 33kHz in-room, delivering a natural, expansive soundstage with exceptional realism and detail. The Ktêma is regarded as a masterpiece of acoustic engineering and artistic design,
