About the FM 108
The FM 108 is a compact, lightweight (4.5 kg) mono power amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking unobtrusive yet highly accurate sound reproduction. It delivers 70 W RMS into 8 Ohms, 130 W RMS into 4 Ohms, and 200 W RMS into 2 Ohms, with peak power outputs of 140 W, 260 W, and 400 W respectively. The amplifier features electronically balanced discrete Class A input circuitry with floating ground, supporting both balanced and unbalanced sources, automatically balancing single-ended inputs. It has an input sensitivity of 0.9 V RMS for full output and an input impedance of 40 kOhm. The FM 108 can drive any speaker impedance from below 1 Ohm to 10,000 Ohms without limiting, compression, or distortion, thanks to its unique onboard computer protection system. It achieves an extremely low total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.005% and a frequency response from less than 1 Hz to 60 kHz. The amplifier has a gain of 28 dB, a maximum output voltage of 66 V peak-to-peak, and can deliver more than 15 A continuous current with unlimited repetitive peak output current. It requires no long warm-up time and maintains a natural, non-harsh sound. The FM 108 is praised for its exceptional component matching, reliability, and ability to reproduce music with rich textures, full bandwidth control, and seamless ambient retrieval. It is part of FM Acoustics' Resolution Series and is highly regarded for its performance-to-size and price ratio, outperforming many heavier and more expensive amplifiers.
