About the 711 MKII
The FM Acoustics 711 MKII is a precision power amplifier handcrafted in Switzerland, known for its ultra-high-end audio performance. It delivers 260 watts per channel into 8 ohms in stereo mode, with a peak power output of 520 watts into 8 ohms. The amplifier features proprietary discrete circuitry with hand-selected semiconductors, a superb balanced discrete Class A input stage that automatically balances unbalanced and pseudo-balanced signals, and no overall feedback design. It offers tremendous headroom, perfect signal symmetry, and exceptional rejection of noise, hum, and interference, with interference rejection 20 to 1000 times better than typical balanced equipment. The amplifier can drive any speaker load, including very low impedance or highly capacitive transducers, without signal compression or limiting. It includes multiple protection systems for amplifier and speakers that reset automatically. The chassis is designed with advanced resonance damping technology to isolate electronic components from mechanical resonance. The unit uses ultra low-loss FORCEPLUG 200 output connectors and a fully shielded internal transformer to prevent stray fields. Input sensitivity is 1.6 VRMS for full power, with an input impedance of 40 kΩ balanced/unbalanced. Frequency response extends from below 1 Hz to 60 kHz, with total harmonic distortion of 0.005%. The amplifier weighs approximately 25-30 kg and measures 430 x 200 x 450 mm. It is designed for 230 VAC operation but can be converted to 100-120 VAC. The 711 MKII is highly regarded for its musicality, dynamic damping of speakers, and long-term stability and reliability, making it a dream amplifier for demanding audiophiles.
