The Finale Audio F-7189 II integrated amplifier features a classic tube design with input jacks feeding directly to a volume control and then a 12AX7 tube. This tube acts as both voltage gain and phase splitter for the push-pull output stage consisting of two EL84 tubes per channel. The amplifier delivers 20 watts per channel by running the EL84 tubes in pentode mode with a regulated B+ supply on the screen grids, allowing for rugged operation and increased power compared to typical ultralinear EL84 amps. The output transformers are generously specified Hammond units, contributing to the amplifier's robust build quality. Internally, the amplifier uses high-end Mundorf capacitors and a neatly populated circuit board. Sonically, it provides good bass grip without being domineering, and excels in the midrange and treble clarity, delivering a pure and realistic sound.
