About the Daruma 3II
The Final Labs Daruma 3II isolation devices come in sets of three, each set including six all-metal cups and three stainless steel ball bearings. These devices are designed to isolate audio components from vibration by creating a low-friction interface between the component and its support surface. The Daruma 3II evolved from earlier versions that used wood and dowels, now featuring expertly machined metal cups and ball bearings for improved performance. Setup involves placing the three isolators under the component in a tripod configuration, adjusting alignment to ensure the top and bottom cups line up perfectly, allowing the component to 'float' with minimal vibration. They are relatively small, easy to use, and provide a noticeable improvement in sound quality by reducing mechanical noise and resonance. The Daruma 3II is recommended for components weighing up to about 20 pounds and is praised for its speed, focus, and detail enhancement in audio systems. These devices are no longer manufactured following the passing of the original designer, Mr. Winston Ma.
