About the Final Audio D8000

The Final Audio D8000 is a high-end planar magnetic open-back headphone designed with an innovative Air Film Damping System (AFDS) that prevents the diaphragm from contacting the magnets, enhancing bass response and reducing distortion. It combines the delicate high-frequency detail typical of planar magnetic drivers with the volume and open bass tones characteristic of dynamic drivers. The diaphragm is extremely lightweight, about one-third the weight of comparable dynamic models, with a super thin aluminum coil etched onto it, eliminating the need for adhesive and improving sound quality. The housing is made from precision-machined aluminum magnesium alloy, designed for durability and ease of repair with almost all parts disassemblable by screws. The headphones come with newly developed open-type ear pads made from highly breathable foam and specialized fibers, allowing bass frequencies to be reproduced effectively even without a tight seal. The D8000 is manufactured entirely in-house by Final Audio in Kawasaki, Japan, ensuring high precision and quality control. It includes two detachable OFC cables (3.5mm/1.5m and 6.3mm/3m) and a dedicated carrying case. The D8000 is praised for its rich, warm, and natural sound signature with a slightly north-of-neutral tonal balance, strong bass punch, and excellent detail retrieval, suitable for multi-genre listening and professional use.
