About the FR-66S
The Fidelity Research FR-66S is a legendary and rare 12-inch tonearm known for its high mass and precision engineering. It features a high-strength stainless steel body with a collet chuck method arm outlet that eliminates backlash. The tonearm uses a dynamic balance type for needle pressure application and includes a factory adjustable VTA tower along with a fixed pillar base tower. It is designed to bring out the capabilities of cartridges, especially low compliance types, and offers excellent integration of frequency ranges, space, and ambience reproduction. The FR-66S has a mounting hole diameter of 41 mm and supports cartridge weights from 9 to 38.5 grams including shell. It includes a removable headshell, anti-skate bias weight assembly, and side bias weight. The arm length is 382.5 mm total with an effective length of 307 mm and an overhang of 12 mm. The arm height is adjustable between 29.5 and 60 mm, and needle pressure can be applied in the range of 0 to 5 grams. The FR-66S is highly regarded for its neutral and relaxed character and is considered one of the most iconic tonearms ever made.
