Exemplar Audio Portal interconnects are an externally powered cable design using a 12-volt charging system. A central charger box can feed the small power box associated with the interconnects, reducing the number of required AC outlets. The interconnects were offered in both single-ended RCA and balanced XLR versions. The claim that these interconnects are made from five-nines pure copper appears to conflate them with Exemplar’s copper speaker cables; Portal interconnects are described as using a linear crystal-silver ribbon construction.
