About the MM3
The Evolution Acoustics MM3 loudspeaker is designed to deliver true-to-life full-range sound, from the deepest pipe organ notes to the highest muted trumpet tones. It features a 3-way concentric array tower design with a 5-inch aluminum ribbon tweeter, two 7-inch ceramic Accuton midrange drivers, and two 15-inch treated paper woofers. The speakers incorporate a constant voltage crossover with hand-matched, high-quality components to ensure a pure and clean signal path. Each speaker includes a built-in 1000 watt RMS amplifier dedicated to driving the four subwoofers, with equalizers for bass adjustment to optimize integration in various room acoustics. The MM3 allows user control over tweeter and woofer levels, enabling tonal balance customization. It achieves a frequency response of 10 Hz to 40 kHz (-3 dB) and 7 Hz to 70 kHz (-6 dB), with a nominal impedance of 7 ohms and sensitivity of 93 dB. The cabinet is a concentric matrix tower weighing 238 kg (524 lbs) with dimensions approximately 457 mm wide, 1880 mm tall, and 762 mm deep. The MM3 is noted for its exceptional realism, dynamic range, and ability to fill large rooms with music at proper scale, making it suitable for a wide range of music genres including vocal, rock, jazz, chamber, and symphonic music. It is handcrafted in the USA and has received accolades such as "Best Sound In Show" at the Shanghai Audio Show in 2016. The speakers are highly efficient and can be driven by relatively low-powered solid state or tube amplifiers for the midrange and tweeters, while the subwoofers are powered by the internal amplifiers.
