The ESS Technology ES9039MPRO is an active, flagship-grade 32-bit, eight-channel digital-to-analog converter (DAC) integrated circuit in the SABRE PRO family. Intended for high-end consumer and professional audio equipment, it uses ESS’s patented HyperStream IV architecture and a quad-modulator design. The MPRO variant differs from the ES9039PRO by incorporating a hardware MQA renderer. It is a DAC chip rather than a complete consumer audio component, so it has no enclosure, analogue line-output voltage, headphone output, or speaker-driving capability by itself; final product performance depends on the surrounding clocking, I/V conversion, analogue output stage, power supply, and firmware implementation.
