About the DV50

The Esoteric DV-50 is a universal multichannel player capable of playing SACD, CD, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, Video CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3 formats. It features advanced digital filtering technology with two selectable filters: an 8x oversampling FIR filter and an upsampling RDOT filter, allowing upconversion of audio signals up to 1536kHz for DVD-Audio and up to 705.6kHz for CDs. The player includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog outputs, three digital outputs (which do not output SACD signals), and a full set of video outputs including component, S-video, composite, and D1/D2. It uses Burr-Brown PCM1738 24-bit/192kHz DACs in a fully balanced dual-differential configuration and has a heavy, vibration-resistant chassis weighing approximately 46-47 lbs. The DV-50 was manufactured by TEAC America and It is highly regarded for its build quality, sound performance, and versatility as both an audio and video player.
