The ENIGMAcoustics Sopranino is a groundbreaking electrostatic supertweeter utilizing patented SBESL™ (Self-Biased Electrostatic) technology, which eliminates the need for an external bias voltage by deriving polarizing voltage from the audio signal itself. It features an ultra-thin polyester film diaphragm with extremely low moving mass, sandwiched between copper-coated fiberglass stators for push-pull operation. The Sopranino extends frequency response from 8kHz to over 40kHz with selectable crossover points at 8, 10, or 12kHz, and a second-order high-pass filter slope of 12dB/octave. It is designed to be connected in parallel with main speakers, adding to their output rather than replacing the tweeter. The enclosure is a rectangular gray box with a horn mouth covered by a cloth grille, mounted in a crystal-like glass frame with felt base for placement atop main speakers. It includes brass WBT binding posts, rotary crossover frequency switch, and a gain toggle switch for 0 or -3dB adjustment. The Sopranino weighs approximately 6 lbs (2.7 kg) and measures about 7.1" W x 7.6" H x 8.2" D (181 x 193 x 207 mm).
