The Emotive Audio Poeta is a hybrid preamplifier that uses a 5687 twin-triode as a voltage amplifier, two 6186 tubes as cathode followers, and a 5R4GY tube for voltage regulation. It features point-to-point wiring in the audio circuitry and PCB-mounted solid-state circuitry for voltage regulation and current sources, designed to create an optimal electrical environment for the tubes to operate linearly and improve sound quality. The Poeta has five sets of single-ended inputs and two sets of outputs (one fixed and one variable). Its chassis is notable for its rich grenadillo-wood side panels, brushed stainless-steel top, and brass nameplate, giving it a solid and elegant appearance. Emotive Audio emphasizes the elaborate support system of voltage regulators and high-impedance current sources that differentiate the Poeta from other tube-based preamplifiers, aiming to realize the full potential of the tubes by eliminating conflicting electrical needs within the circuit design.
